A tribute to'' Miho Morikawa'' The Best J-female singer

MiHo MoRikawa is by far the only female singer that can impress me with her voice.. I can still recall those moments that i first listened to her vocal in 1994... back then I was only 10 years of age..but her strong yet feminine vocal dint fail to impress me even at that age... Posted by Picasa
Some anime fans might know her as the singer of ''Nadia of Blue Water's'' theme songs,'' Dirty pair'' and also one of the closing themes from'' Ranma ''1/2. The anime theme songs are just a tiny fraction of her musical palette, and it's sad to know that she's very obscure in Japan--not many people know who she is. ..
Some say that her songs have a blend of carribean, jazz, bossa nova, pop, rock, soul, funk..etc, and said that it sounds like nothing else they ever heard of....But i guess the style that influence her most is ''westcoast'' music...
Just some infomation regarding her History,Miho got her start at age seventeen after winning a singing contest, and that lead to her first album "Sentimental Times" in 1986. Even at seventeen, her singing was already very impressive--it immediately seperated her from all the other pretty faces; Miho was no idol pop star--she was a real artist right from the beginning (and that's her curse as well--because she never became famous like all the other untalented pretty faces--that's Japan for ya). Although her early songs are somewhat teeny bop-ish (what do you expect at seventeen?), the display of her vocal skills makes them far more listenable than all the idol music around at the time. Soon after her debut, she began writing some of the lyrics and then eventually composing some of the songs as well. In her ep "holiday," Miho played the blues harp on a couple of the songs.
The last album she released was "Lost & Found" in 2000, and as far as I know, she hasn't released anything since. I can only hope and pray that whatever's keeping her will soon be worked out.
Whenever i start listening to her music, there is like no end to it...i just can't stop but to keep it on a repeat mode... till i get hypnotized
one last note, without her music... i think I'll forget half of my childhood memories...-_-

Yeah! I discovered Miho last year and have been collecting all of her stuff. She's definitely great and I hope she has not stopped recording.

I made a page on YouTube where I post some videos of her (and other stuff):
